Corsica, oh Corsica, consider yourself on the growing list of destinations I need to re-visit!!!! A couple of weeks back, I, and I think many others had the most incredible weekend on this stunning little island off the south coast of France!!! It was Juliette and Graeme’s wedding. I first met JAG at Hannah and Toby’s wedding last summer in the South of France, they were the couple who just happened to be kissing and cuddling every time I spotted them, it was like, get a room you guys!!! 😉
A few months later, and with team JAG having seen the full set from Hannah and Toby’s wedding, the email asking if I could come to Corsica landed!!! There was absolutely no hesitation on my part, I wanted to be there! We skyped, I think/hope we shared a few laughs, we got interrupted by the ironing collection, we chatted about Corsica, and that was it, I was shooting their wedding weekend in 2017!!
The weekend soon came round, and it kicked off with a pre-wedding gathering down at the beach, a chance for Juliette and Graeme to meet all of their guests who had made the journey, which by the sounds of it, was pretty much everyone!! Who wouldn’t want to go to Corsica for a week-long wedding party?!!! The following day (it was a 4 day weekend!!!), I met them both at Le Domaine d’Agnone, a private collection of Villas overlooking the Mediterranean sea, we did a little scout of the venue before hitting the beach to get a few shots of these guys in the last little bit of sunlight. It turns out rock climbing and flip-flops aren’t a suitable match, ay Graeme?!!!
The wedding itself remains a bit of a blur, I’m not sure if was the heat (it was hot!!!), or just that there was constantly something happening, but one minute the girls were all having lunch in the villa, then everyone was going crazy on the dance floor before dinner!!!! This is the first wedding for me, and I’m sure most of the guests, where it was tradition to dance for 30 minutes before being seated for dinner, a tradition which I’m sure had most of us thinking, really?!!! But how wrong we were to under-estimate it. That half an hour was one of the most enthralling experiences I’ve had a wedding to date, the place was absolutely bouncing!! This needs to happen more!!
I haven’t even mentioned the ceremony, oh man alive, I’m not sure I can do it justice…. it was at Église Saint Jean Baptiste de Coti Chiavari, set in the hills of Corsica, you’ll see, it’s mega!!!
