Guess what guys?! Antigua is a bit of alright!!!!! 😉 But do you know what, what made this stunning island even more magical… was Casey and JT, they completely embodied what and how a wedding should be; a recognition and celebration of their relationship, surrounded by close friends and family, each and every one of them there to share the commitment Casey and JT made towards each other, full of love, support, and dancing!!!!!!! Obviously dancing!!! To give you a standout moment from my time with these guys would be absolutely impossible, I scroll through this set of images and I beam from ear to ear remembering the atmosphere and memories that I’ve taken away from visiting this tiny island in the Caribbean. I will forever be grateful and thankful to them both for asking me along to Antigua to document their Clarence House wedding and celebrations. I genuinely hope we return in the not too distant future.
The week started for me and my family with a visit to Shirley Heights, somewhere that Casey and JT had requested to meet for a little pre-wedding shoot before the main event. It’s an iconic part of the island, with the most breathtaking of views over English Harbour, it was very easy to see the visual appeal! Twice a week they host a steel drum or reggae band night (if you ever visit Antigua, this is an absolute must!), and it was packed with crowds and crowds of people, all there to witness the most amazing of sunsets, not ideal for a couple shoot mind!! Fortunately, it turns out that on the nights when the bands aren’t there, it’s incredibly peaceful and quiet, we pretty much had the location to ourselves on the evening we met up. Spending 20 minutes on those rocks, looking down onto the harbour, watching the sky change as the sun dipped below the horizon was nothing short of remarkable.
The wedding was hosted in the most wonderful of buildings in Clarence House, which sits on the hillside just opposite English Harbour. A building full of character and history, it is immaculate and superbly well kept, but the standout feature was the view and backdrop that it provided for Casey and JT’s vows. Looking down onto English Harbour during the ceremony is something that I’m not sure my images can do justice to, and I’m sure that no matter how much these guys tried to visualise it in the buildup to the big day, the final view and setting delivered above and beyond their wildest expectations. I felt hugely honoured and privileged to be there with them both and their families.
