The day began at Hotel Serbelloni, where both Frankie and Will prepared with a calm that belied what was to come. Guests boarded boats unaware of their destination, the villa had been kept a surprise. As they rounded the curve of the peninsula, Villa del Balbianello appeared through the trees, and the atmosphere instantly shifted; excitement, sunlight, and the quiet hum of water against the hulls. Will and his groomsmen there to greet all of the beaming faces as they stepped off the boat, wearing a black tie and white blazer, the perfect complement to the villa’s classic architecture and the crisp northern Italian light. The ceremony and reception unfolded effortlessly – relaxed, joyful, and deeply personal.
Photographed in a mix of digital and 35 mm film (both colour and black-and-white), the images reflect the tone of the day: timeless, design-led, and human. My approach is always rooted in art, fashion, and connection, blending documentary honesty with editorial influences. As the evening light faded over the lake, guests were treated to an impromptu performance from Abandoman, whose energy carried well into the night. It was one of those weddings that reminded me why I love what I do – creating photographs that feel alive, atmospheric, and true to the people at the heart of it all.

“Will and I love them! They look amazing. ✨👌🏼
Especially love the photos with my dad, Will and the groomsmen, us walking around the venue. The boat photos are epic. The comedian photos really show how much everyone was in fits and laughter, and lol at the party photos, especially us on our friends shoulders!”

Weddings like Frankie and Will’s remind me why Lake Como holds such timeless appeal. The combination of light, landscape, and architecture creates something cinematic, yet still intimate. Photographing at Villa del Balbianello is always an experience that lingers; every frame offers texture, movement, and emotion in equal measure. If you’re planning your own destination wedding in Italy and drawn to editorial, art-driven photography, I’d love to hear about your plans, whether it’s Lake Como, Puglia, or somewhere entirely your own.
