A couple of weekends back, I had the crazy pleasure of being asked to visit Copenhagen by Megan and Andrew, they might have been getting married!!!! 😉 Wedding photography at Paradehuset?! In Frederiksberg, the heart of Copenhagen? In the middle of summer? Me?! HELL YEAH!!!! I remember when Megan and Andrew first enquired, and the venue was initially going to be on a small and remote island somewhere off the Danish coast, which I have no doubt would have been stunning, but then the email “is it ok if we move it to Copenhagen?” landed. Needless to say, they didn’t need to sell it to me! I’ve wanted to visit Copenhagen for so long!!

It didn’t disappoint; as a keen cyclist I have huge envy for anyone who lives there, they have actual lanes for actual bikes!! And I’m not talking a little bit of paint on the side of the road to hint at a lane, it’s a proper cycle lane, a different height and finish to the road and pavement, with not a pothole in sight!!!!  The city is super clean, and the sheer amount of bikes V’s cars means you don’t inhale a lung full of diesel fumes every 5 seconds! The coffee, wow the coffee is gooooooooood, I’d go there alone to have another coffee!!! And the bowl of Ramen I had on Thursday! I know, it’s not Danish, but trust me, if you ever visit, check out “Ramen To Biiru”!!!!

And then there was the small matter of a wedding to attend!!! I’d been to meet Megan and Andrew at Paradehuset on the Thursday before my Ramen (they recommended it to me, so you can thank them when you eventually visit!!!), and it was clear to see why keeping the wedding within the city they live was the right decision. Paradehuset, in the region of Frederiksberg, is simply stunning. A beautiful park, full of colour and life, and I only got chance to explore about 10% of it, it’s huge!!! It was also clear to see just how excited M&A were to welcome their friends and family to Copenhagen, me included. Their smiles and positivity about the day ahead was infectious, and I left our pre-wedding chat on the Thursday absolutely buzzing about the rest of my time with these guys. Despite having lofty expectations about the wedding, it’s safe to say it went above and beyond what I, and I’m sure all of their guests could have ever imagined. Even the one thing that went wrong (the wedding car was involved in a smash the day before), turned out pretty damn well!!!!

Megan and Andrew, you were magnificent, thank you so much for having me along, it will be a weekend that lives long in the memory. Copenhagen, until next time!!
