To those of you reading this that already know Carl, for which there will be many, he needs no introduction. For those of you that aren’t so lucky, well, where do I start?! The first thing that springs to mind is that you couldn’t say a bad word about the guy, he genuinely is one of the warmest and kind hearted people I know. He’s the sort of person that wouldn’t even stop to think about helping a complete stranger, he just would. And thats what I find truly amazing about Carl, he always always puts other people first, never himself. He’s also the kind of guy that sticks to what he says, if he says he’s going to do something, he’ll do it, no question.
The pictures below only further illustrate this level of kindness and commitment, and even though you may have already looked at them and said ‘what a scruff bag’ or, ‘he needs a shave’ or, ‘tramp’ (which i’m sure he will agree, he’s heard people whisper behind his back on a few occasions!!), your opinion will more than likely change when you find out he’s doing all of this for charity!! On December 5th 2011, Carl decided to embark upon ‘A year of hair’ – a full 12 months without shaving, cutting or trimming any of his body hair, all for 2 very good causes (McMillan Cancer Research and Air Ambulance). There were obviously some doubters, and understandably so, but 5 months in, and knowing Carl as I do, he was never going to bail from the concept. So, below you will see a collection of portraits from a drink we shared yesterday. Over the coming month or so we’ll be launching a website and allowing people to donate online (the current total stands at just over £1’000), and we really hope you’ll all be able to help spread the word and generate the buzz Carl deserves, so watch this space.
In the meantime, please check out his Facebook page to be kept upto date with the latest news, and please tweet, retweet, share and pin this blog, it all helps.
