It doesn’t matter how many weddings I’ve shot, I start every single one just wanting my couple to have the best and craziest day of their lives!! I also start them slightly nervous and wondering when the hell someone is going to catch me out to be a complete fraudster, but so far, I’ve managed to blag my way through it…. for 6 years!!! I digress slightly…… from experience, I’ve found the best way for a couple to have the best day, is to just let go!! Yep, that’s right; let. it. go!!!! The simple reason I want my couples to feel like this is because of the influence and direct impact that this approach to the day has on their guests. When a bride and groom completely let go and enjoy themselves (by this I mean not stressing over details, or the weather, or the timings!!), it has such a positive impact on each and every guest, and in turn, the wedding photography I find myself returning home with. Anna and Matts wedding at Brympton House in Somerset a couple of weeks back could not have been a better and more suitable example of this mindset. Don’t get me wrong, I know they planned it, and I’m sure they had arguments and late nights over getting the details right, but on the day, it kind of didn’t matter! There was no stress, or moments of panic, they both put their focus and efforts into enjoying the day, and making sure their guests did too.

Matt, although I’m sure he did have a few nervous moments in the build up, certainly didn’t show it, he was grinning almost as much as he would if England go on to win the World Cup!!!! I’m sorry, I couldn’t help not referencing it! 😉 Every guest that arrived couldn’t help but smile back at him, and that set the tone for an absolutely stand out day.

Anna and her bridesmaids bounced to the ceremony like a group of friends off to their first school disco!! I’m sure like Matt, Anna felt the nerves, but the excitement levels on that short walk were clear to see, and I couldn’t wait to see how the day would unfold. It also just so happens that Anna is a designer for someone called Amanda Wakeley?!! I think she might make dresses?! Anyway, she looked absolutely knockout in a bespoke, designed by herself, Amanda Wakeley gown!! I don’t think Matt could quite believe his luck when she entered the room!! Although Matt looked bang tidy as well, so I’d say they’re a good match!!

Enough of me waffling, here it is, a sunny day down in Somerset at Brympton House, featuring Anna and Matt, their crazy and brilliant guests, lots of Aperol Spritz, an impromptu first dance that wasn’t the first dance, and a human pyramid, to name just a few…… I think, in fact I’m pretty sure, they had the best and craziest day of their life!!!
