So, a couple of months back I decided to book myself onto a photography workshop, a first for me! I’d spotted Liam and Neil promoting Redfern + Crawley UTD on Facebook and decided to just go for it. A definite impulse purchase! I really wasn’t sure what to expect, and whether or not it would even benefit me (without sounding too cocky!), but I’m pleased to say it was very much worth it.

As wedding photographers, we spend so much of our week cocooned in our own little offices with only facebook and twitter to communicate to the outside world. We sometimes forget that there are thousands of other photographers out there, each with their own techniques and styles, and sometimes, it helps to step out of our own little bubble and to observe how others go about their job. Both Liam and Neil (and Bee, of course!) are all extremely passionate about making awesome images, and it was clear to see, not only from their work, but from the moment the workshop kicked off. Like 2 little boys high on E numbers, Liam and Neil didn’t stop, always full of ideas, always looking for the next shot, always talking to the couple and the photographers attending, it really was inspiring to watch. And then there was Bee, the glue that held the day together, like the mother of the 2 boys telling them what they can and can’t do and when to come home, she also happens to be an editing whizz-kid by the way!!

So all in all, a great day.

Great fun.

Great people.

A great workshop.

A huge thanks to Liam, Neil and Bee. It really was an awesome day. It was great to see how you all work. Some of the techniques I’ll embrace, and already have, but most of all, you’ve made me think.

Until next time comrades! x
